Staff Development Coordinator - Sub-Acute Care

St. John’s Hospital Camarillo

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Staff Development Coordinator to join our team at St. John’s Hospital Camarillo. As a Staff Development Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our workforce.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive staff development programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assess training needs through collaboration with department heads and regular evaluations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and educational programs.
  • Create engaging training materials, presentations, and resources for diverse learning styles.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to incorporate into training initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify skills gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization
Qualifications
  • Licensed Nurse (LVN) with 1 year experience providing direct patient care in a long term care facility in addition to 1 year experience planning implementing and evaluating educational programs
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Title XXII OBRA regulations and JCAHO standards for long term care.
  • Supervision of monthly re-capping of physician orders.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with various publics.
  • Communicate with and interact with licensed and unlicensed staff.
  • Understand logical order when tracking various logs for a multiple of departments.
This position is represented by SEIU Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
